Ready for Winter: Lehigh Valley Residents Prepare for Possible Snow

With winter around the corner, residents of South Whitehall Township in the Lehigh Valley region have already started preparing for the upcoming snow season. At Albright’s Hardware & Garden Center, located in the heart of the community, numerous shoppers are buying up supplies to ensure they are ready for various winter conditions.

Snowblowers, Salt and Shovels: What You Need for the Season

Customers can be found browsing shelves stocked with snowblowers, salt, and shovels to equip themselves against the unpredictable Lehigh Valley weather. Albright’s has been a staple of the community for decades, being the go-to for all DIY projects and winter storm necessities. For those who have already made their purchases, it’s all about making sure their investment is properly put into use.

“I have three snowblowers but you need it. I have a driveway with a real thick incline, so you need a big one for that and a small one for the sidewalks,” customer John Boehm said.

Albright’s Store Manager Griffin Daly is fully prepared for the upcoming winter.

“We are totally prepared. We got all the ice melter, all the shovels, car brushes–everything that you need. Snow blowers are going out,” Daly said. “More people are realizing their snowblowers don’t work properly right now so they are bringing them into us.”

Preparing for the Worst While Hoping for the Best

Boehm experienced a setback while preparing for the winter as he found his snowblower to have a flat tire. However, other shoppers, like Craig Ellis, remain confident in their purchase.

“It shouldn’t be that bad. I got a Honda snow blower, which is guaranteed to throw five tons an hour,” Ellis said.

A white winter is certainly welcomed at Albright’s as it typically leads to a bump in sales. While the store is ready for the snow, lehigh Valley residents can only hope for milder conditions.
